4 Days until Crossover — Things are Moving Fast

The next several days are critical in the General Assembly as the March 23 crossover deadline quickly approaches. This is the point bills must move to the opposite chamber to stay alive. Now is the time for members, union leaders, and advocates to reach out to legislators and push for favorable votes on labor’s bills.

Collective Bargaining Bills on the Move

The collective bargaining bills (SB 6 & SB 84) are moving. Senate Finance voted SB 6 out; SB 84 was held. Contact Senate Finance members to urge advancement.

Captive Audience Bill Advances

SB 417 (Maryland Worker Freedom Act) passed Senate Finance committee 6–3. Call your Senators to support SB 417 on the floor.

Wage theft image

A Continuous Push for Wage Theft Enforcement

Wage theft costs workers and taxpayers. Urge Senators and Delegates to support SB 60 and HB 299 with strong enforcement provisions.

Restricting Use of State Funds and Resources

Prohibit contractors who receive state funds from using them for anti-union campaigns. Contact House Government, Labor, and Elections to support HB 1173.

SB 831 & HB 1480 shore up state labor protections. Contact Senate Finance and House Government, Labor, and Elections.
