President Edwards joins AFM Rally - Day 39
President Edwards joins the BSO Picketers in Baltimore. The Baltimore Symphony Musicians, members of Local 40-543, American Federation of Musicians (AFM), started picketing on June 17 after they were told on May 30 that their last work would be June 16 and that the BSO had cancelled the summer season of concerts it had planned.
Picketing will continue at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral Street in Baltimore City until further notice. AFM members hope for a large turnout of not only their own members but many of our sisters and brothers from other unions in the area, many who have already turned out to support in big numbers.
The Baltimore Symphony Musicians have expressed appreciation for the tremendous support of organized labor in their fight for a fair contract.
